How We Started
Holding on to Victory’s calling of honoring God and making disciples and with the desire to reach out to more people, a core team composed of a few staff and several leaders from Victory Ortigas, headed by Pastor Luther Mancao, spearheaded a church plant in Mandaluyong in November 2007 which is now called Victory Pioneer.
After a year of leading the church in engaging the community, establishing them in the faith, word and church and equipping believers to minister and empowering them to make disciples, Pastor Luther transitioned the leadership of the local church which then only had around 60 Victory groups, two adult services during the weekends and a youth service to Pastor Robert Hern Jr.
Despite the the transition, the kingdom of God continued to forcefully advance and by 2014 we already had 8 services happening every week at the same location where it all started, but with a bigger main hall that seats around 1200 people and a bigger KIDS facility for the children.
In April of 2014, Pastor Robert answered a call that God had placed in his heart to plant a church in San Diego, California, thus passing on the leadership to Pastor Jun Aguilar.
God has done great and mighty works in our midst and He is continually building His church and graciously calling more people to the knowledge of His love. From the small congregation that started the church, Victory Pioneer currently welcomes in more than 8000 people to its weekly worship services, with 583 Victory Groups happening around the city every week led by 564 Victory Group leaders.
Much of Victory’s growth and health can be attributed to these volunteers’ passion to live a life that honors God and makes disciples.
